You Can't Wear All the Hats - Some Of Them Just Don't Fit
Most small businesses were created by people who love what they do and so they excel at it. Florists love creating beauty, restaurant owners adore cooking, mechanics get jazzed about fixing things. It takes an entrepreneurial spirit and bold soul to go after a dream. It's something that almost everyone wishes they could do - make money doing something they love.
But the problem that most small business owners face after they make that leap of faith and go for it, is that it soon becomes clear that they're lacking the in the "business" part of the business.
There aren't too many small business owners that wake up in the morning to say, "Oh boy - I get to do the bookkeeping today!" OR "Wow - it's time to get that monthly Newsletter out." OR "Lucky me I get to deal with a difficult employee."
So soon, instead of reveling in their God given gifts with passion, most small business owners start to focus instead on what they aren't good at. They laundry list themselves with all the things they "can't do" that they "should do". It becomes a huge mental burden. And it's a shame too. A person skilled at training horses shouldn't beat themselves up at how disorganized the office is. A chiropractor shouldn't have to be concerned with filing paperwork when there are patients waiting to be treated.
Outsourcing those things that "you're just not good at" is wise choice for any small business owner. Here's what the Highest Authority says about it:
Romans 12:4-6
4Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 6We have different gifts, according to the grace given us.
So do what you do best and leave the back office stuff to us.
